Transfer deadline today for European clubs as Al Ahli, a Saudi Pro League club, is ready to announce two deals for two players who Chelsea was hoping to capture this summer.
After reaching a total agreement with Victor Osimhen and Napoli, the Saudi giants “have total agreement with Ivan Toney and his agents. Three-year deal in place,” Fabrizio Romano said on X.
Chelsea were thought to be trying to bring in Toney as an alternative if they were unable to acquire the services of Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.
Now it appears the Premier League giants are losing out on both strikers.
“Medical tests also booked for English striker and £40m to Brentford,” he added.
However, Romano added: “Al Ahli have still no green light from Victor Osimhen despite the club-to-club deal done with Napoli.”
L’Equipe reports that “Al Ahli have also agreed a deal with Brentford for Ivan Toney worth €42m.”
“Toney has already accepted, as Al Ahli want Osimhen to make a final decision as soon as possible.”
Although the Pro League giants agreed on both Osimhen and Toney deals, there is no green light from the Nigerian international yet.
