Stand-up comedian and foremost supporter of Tinubu’s administration, Oluwaseyitan Aletile, popularly known by his stage name, Seyi Law, has condemned the new cybersecurity levy introduced amid economic hardship facing citizens.
Seyi Law, who has lost many supporters for his insistence on the competence on President Tinubu, said the federal government’s new cybersecurity levy announced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the office of the National Security Adviser, showed the government failed to understand the reality of the citizens.
Seyi disagreed with the circular’s position, stating that what Nigerians need is a new minimum wage as the 2019 minimum wage of N30,000 for workers was far from reality.
Aletile added that Tinubu’s government has failed to take action on what is most paramount, the new minimum wage, to assuage workers and Nigerians.

“I don’t think this is the time for the implementation,” Seyi said; adding “If there is anything that should be paramount to the government, it should be the new minimum wage.”
Seyi’s call for the government of Tinubu to abandon the implementation of the new cybersecurity levy of 0.5% as announced on Sunday, May 5, also generated criticism from his fans who accused him of supporting Tinubu’s regime from the campaign time.
An X (formerly Twitter) user George Reallove told Seyi Law he cannot expect evil from good. He wrote, “Your cry is still early. You can’t expect good from evil.’
