Kenneth Omeruo nominates Lookman for CAF player of the year

With a hat-trick to lead Atalanta to win the UEFA Europa League, Kenneth Omeruo has nominated Ademola Lookman for Confederation of African Player of the Year.

 

Lookman set history on Wednesday night, May 22, after scoring UEFA first first-ever hat-trick goal at the final of any UEFA competition final match.

 

The Super Eagles star scored the first UEFA Europa League final match hat-trick to win for Atalanta Europea League Cup against Bayer Leverkusen.

 

With Lookman’s hat trick, he ended Gian Piero Gasperini, Atalanta Caoch’s 66 years without trophy.

 

Super Eagles Omeruo, on his social media, wrote, “CAF your African Player of the Year.”

Lookman has had an impressive record through the 2021 African Cup of Nations, to the Seria A league.

 

Lookman in 57 goals for Atalanta scored 20 goals and had 10 assists. He also won the Silver Medal with Super Eagles in the 2021 AFCON, after a 2-1 loss to the host country, Ivory Coast. He was listed in the 2021 AFCON Best Eleven.

 

Lookman also won with Atalanta Coppa Italia silver Medal, UEL final Player of the Match, and UEL Cup. Lookman has ended Atalanta 66 years without trophy.
