Since President Bola Tinubu took office on May 29, 2023, the price of fuel has increased by 46% in 15 months, with the most recent increase coming in at N897 per litre.

The most recent increase in fuel prices is the thirty-first in 51 years, starting with General Yakubu Gowon’s 1973 increase from 6 to 8.45 kobo.
