Peter Obi’s automatic nomination as the Labour Party’s (LP) nominee for the 2027 presidential election has been ruled out by the group led by Julius Abure, the party’s national chairman.
The faction also ruled out an automatic ticket for the current Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, on the party’s platform.
The changes were revealed by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) on Monday during a press briefing. As of right now, the NEC has declared that all candidates including Peter Obi are welcome to submit nominations.
